Hybrid: Minimum of 3 days on-site in South San Francisco

JOB SUMMARY

Main purpose of this position is on-going optimization AND managing existing operations of the company's logistical network.

The logistics team delivers a North America logistical network that balances agility, cost effectiveness, and resilience.

Strategically important goal for the team is to sustain and continually improve the North America 4PL operating model within the PTS landscape.

Program Manager closely collaborates with Internal stakeholders to maintain comprehensive understanding of evolving organizational needs.

External service providers to provide performance feedback and drive healthy collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver fit-for-purpose logistics network.

Stay current with changes in the company's' logistical needs.

Keep current on industry trends and market conditions; investigate and implement innovative and value added services.

Closely partner and collaborate with 4PL provider and internal stakeholders in order to:

Select, qualify and implement new Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) as needed.

Collect and analyze LSP performance metrics, drive actions to continuously improve performance.

Manage relationship and performance of existing providers.

Conduct Operational and Business Reviews with key internal stakeholders and key LSPs.

Establish and maintain shipping lanes based on business requirements..

Allocate new and established shipping lanes to specific carriers.

Participate in selection and implementation of new shipping systems.

Oversee freight spend and implement cost-effective logistical solutions without compromising quality and business performance.

Support day-to-day transportation execution, address high-impact transportation issues/risks and drive corrective actions and optimization efforts.

Partner with Manage Logistics and Distribution BPM community and PTS stakeholders.

Develop robust contingency plans to ensure the network is prepared for logistical disruptions.

Drive compliance with Good Distribution Practices.

Collaborate with regional and global logistics teams

EDUCATION, SKILL & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, logistics, or equivalent, advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

Work experience of 8+ years Logistics Management or equivalent.

Experience in managing both domestic and international logistics.

Experience with 4PL set-up.

Experience in pharmaceutical and/or cold-chain logistics.

Experience in selection, implementation and management of logistics suppliers preferred.

Data analytics and reporting skills.

Ability to make high-impact decisions autonomously.

Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

Strong influence and negotiation skills.

Collaborative mindset, ability to build and maintain cross-functional business relationships.

Excellent planning, organization, and timelines management skills.

Ability to anticipate problems, recommend solutions and implement mitigation plans.

The hiring range for this position is $85 to $105 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
