Fleet Mechanic - Diesel

Overview:

The primary purpose of this position is to perform basic and complicated maintenance functions as well as preventative maintenance and routine repairs on our delivery truck fleet.

Responsibilities:
  1. To perform the following truck repair and maintenance functions on a night shift:
    • Perform preventative maintenance and routine repair as needed.
    • The ability to repair vehicles on the street as needed.
  2. Ability to perform and/or service other class 3-8 truck equipment and general maintenance functions such as troubleshooting, lubricating, adjustments, replace and repairing parts as needed
  3. Intermediate understanding of electrical systems, computer-controlled engine diagnostics, and basic related controls.
  4. Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder s supervisor, may also be required.
Qualifications:
  • Class B CDL License with Air Brake Endorsement
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience or equivalent education
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide their own basic set of mechanics hand and air-operated power tools
  • 3+ years of experience in a related area

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
