job summary:
A Designer Associate is needed for a world class utility company in the New Albany, OH area. The job entails performing computer-aided drafting tasks to prepare engineering drawings, maps, and sketches, managing documentation, and supporting various engineering projects while possessing proficiency in CAD/GIS software and adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.

salary: $21.40 - 31.36 per hour

responsibilities:

  • Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering and record drawings, maps, and sketches.

  • Maintain material and property equipment records.

  • Obtain necessary information from various sources.

  • Perform mathematical calculations required for assigned work.

  • Operate reproduction machines and other duplicating equipment.

  • Resolve discrepancies with other company organizations.

  • Incorporate information from various sources into work being performed.

  • Promote and support company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs.

  • Demonstrate ethical behavior and support company's corporate goals.

  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in applied science (AAS) drafting and computer-aided design (CAD) or relevant equivalent experience and/or education.

  • Equivalent experience without AAS degree: high school graduate with a minimum of 4 years of experience in electric utility and/or related industrial drafting and/or computer-aided drafting work.

  • Familiarity and aptitude for computer graphics and automated drawing methods.

  • Proficiency in CADD/GIS experience.

  • Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid state driver's license.

  • Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD (2D and 3D).

  • Highly recommended proficiency in ARCGIS, Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.
