Construction Estimator


Job Details

Job Summary: My client is a local leading residential framing contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Estimator for their Riverside office. The Estimator will be responsible for estimating various construction projects in the Southern California market, with a focus on residential construction and Rough Carpentry.



Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform accurate lumber, labor, and hardware take-offs.
  • Interpret and distribute plans, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Generate comprehensive estimates and proposals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with material suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to set up and mobilize projects.
  • Interpret take-offs for the production department.
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines.
  • Mentor and enhance the skills of the estimating team.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and architects to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide cost reduction or value engineering suggestions.
  • Attend pre-bid construction meetings and site visits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and building types.
  • Proficient in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and details.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in PlanSwift, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and project bidding.
  • Experience in producing quality take-offs and bids.
