Mid-State Supply currently has an opening for a Warehouse Worker in Alexandria, LA.The Warehouse Worker performs functions that include processing stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the Warehouse. This position loads and unloads trucks, receives materials and products, and picks, packages, wraps, and labels products to be delivered; ensures that incoming and outgoing products are in proper condition; maintains the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the Warehouse. The Warehouse Worker delivers products and ensures that our customer needs for complete and accurate product delivery are met in a timely manner while building long-term business relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking care of internal and external customers' needs and concerns
  • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse
  • Participate in Clean-Up Days and wire pit annual inventory project
  • Assist receiving products into warehouse via PO number from vendor; check for discrepancies and report; put stock into inventory that has been cleared by receiving using barcode system; add new locations or corrections to locations as needed in system; make any necessary changes to warehouse locations and product placement
  • Receive pick ticket from sales; check for accuracy and pull product accordingly
  • Stage ticket products; ship out/load product; make deliveries as needed to customers
  • Unload product at customer destination; assist customer with unload if necessary
  • Unload trucks using material handling equipment and place in inventory
  • Perform inspection and maintenance on material handling equipment and send out equipment for repairs; perform inspection on delivery trucks
  • Assist walk-in customers with needs and urgent orders
  • Help to train new hire Warehouse Workers and conduct Refresher training for Part-Time employees


REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Experience with industrial products, customers, and vendors is preferred
  • Warehouse experience and inventory experience is preferred
  • Chauffeur license is required to operate company vehicles
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a continuous basis
  • Acclimated to warehouse environment and temperatures
  • Local and out of town driving on a daily basis
  • Clear motor vehicle history is required
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
  • MS Product; database ERP experience (Eclipse, Solar experience is preferred); ability to navigate internet
  • Good written and oral communication is required
