The Athletic is a remote-friendly company as we have offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, and Melbourne.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the preparation of month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules in a timely manner.Responsible for processing monthly invoices to customers.Perform detailed tracking of customer cash receipts, assist with customer collections, and prepare a weekly analysis of accounts receivable balances.Work closely with the Sales and Business Development teams to assist in research on invoicing or other matters.Ensure day-to-day operational needs are met timely and with accuracy.Ad hoc and special projects, as requested.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.CPA certification required. OK if certification is in progress.2+ years of relevant accounting experience.Advanced Excel experience (NetSuite experience a plus).Detail oriented and organized, with strong analytical skills.Self-motivated, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve when necessary.Proven ability to meet deadlines.The Company is backed by Founders Fund, Evolution Media, Courtside Ventures, Comcast Ventures, Bedrock Capital, Advancit Capital, Y Combinator, and other leading investors.
