Job Title: Construction Recruiter


Location: Birmingham, AL (with travel to Montgomery and Huntsville)


Salary: $65,000 per year


Employment Type: Full-time, In-office with some travel

Kodiak Labor Solutions is a leading staffing firm specializing in providing skilled trade talent to the construction industry. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Construction Recruiter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry or be willing to quickly get up to speed. This position will be based in our Birmingham office with occasional travel to Montgomery and Huntsville.


Responsibilities:

  • Source, recruit, and screen candidates for various construction positions, including pipefitters, plumbers, mechanical technicians, and other skilled trades.
  • Utilize a variety of sourcing methods to attract top talent, including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
  • Conduct interviews and assess candidate qualifications to determine fit for specific job roles.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from initial sourcing to job offer negotiation and placement.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews and assessments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates and external partners to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in construction recruitment.


Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction terminology and job requirements, or willingness to learn.
  • Experience recruiting for temp-to-hire, direct hire, and contract-to-hire positions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to Montgomery and Huntsville as needed.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong existing networks within the construction industry, including relationships with industry professionals, trade organizations, and educational institutions, can facilitate sourcing and attracting top talent.
