Assembly Technician - 1st Shift

Job Description

The Assembly Technician will use written work instructions and wiring schematics to wire and solder the electrical components of our products and construct their associated wiring harnesses
Functions include assembling and testing electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, gluing sub-assemblies, and mechanical assembly of force measurement products
They work closely with production management to ensure timely and quality manufacturing of products.

  • Ability to read Blueprint/Wiring Schematics
  • Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow and understand procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Maintain records of product calibration and testing
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Prior electronics assembly experience is a plus
  • Prior soldering experience is a plus
  • Prior mechanical assembly a plus

Essential Job Functions
  • Gluing of sub-assemblies using 2-part epoxy
  • General mechanical assembly utilizing hand, powered, or pneumatic tools
  • Integrating PCBs and other electronic components into Bertec products
  • Solder wiring to PCB boards
  • Assembly of wire harnesses, cables, and electronic sub-assemblies
  • Calibration and testing of product
  • Physical handling of components, including lifting up to 50 lbs several times a day
  • Maintain a well-organized, clean, and safe work environment
