Senior Accountant


Job Details

The Senior Accountant will perform day-to-day finance and accounting operations for the organization, including but not limited to intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, and monthly recurring journal entries.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintains accounting records of CCUSA and other related entities of the organization.

Responsible for monthly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations which include (but not limited to) prepaid expenses, fixed asset, accrued expenses, payroll, and/or inventory transactions, as applicable, in an accurate and timely manner

Assists with the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.

Assists with the annual audit by preparing audit schedules for financial statements, the related footnotes and the 990-tax return.

Supports Financials Grants Manager with required filings and other related tasks

Researches, interprets, and aids with the implementation of all new GAAP pronouncements as it relates to not-for-profit organizations. Establishes and improves accounting policies and procedures; establishes and maintains internal accounting controls; develops, modifies, and documents accounting policies.

Keeps abreast of best practices, technologies and processes; trouble shoots business processes and internal controls; identifies opportunities for customer service improvements.

Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite program, especially Excel in developing complex spreadsheets to arrange, produce, display and analyze data.

Educational & Experience

BS/BA (or equivalent experience) in Accounting or related field.

CPA or Masters Degree preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics preferred.

Three to five years of auditing or accounting related experience in a non-profit organization.

Work Environment

This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending and repetitive lifting of minimal weight.
