Description: The Donor Relations Specialist supports administrative development initiatives of Meals On Wheels of Tampa. Responsible for supporting cultivation and stewardship activities along with annual giving efforts, tours, and special events.


Position Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED, associate degree or higher preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in project management or similar administrative role
  • Strong administrative and time management skills.
  • Excellent communications skills on phone, in-person, and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Working knowledge in Canva or Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) helpful.
  • Knowledge of mass e-mail communication software helpful.
  • Mission-driven, team orientated and results-focused.
  • Bilingual helpful


Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for entry and processing of all pledges, gifts, and contributions.

Prepare, print, and mail all gift acknowledgment letters, pledge reminder letters, and tax reporting information including year-end tax receipts timely and accurately.

Assist with managing email donor outreach e-blasts, special announcements, newsletters, etc.

Support fundraising by producing print and digital pieces including donor newsletters, event invitations, and appeals; working with Communications Team to ensure brand compliance and adherence.

Respond to donor inquiries and provide exceptional front-line service and support (mail, phone, in-person).

Confidentially and cordially interact with donors, Board members, volunteers, and other constituents in-person, by phone and in writing.

Provide administrative support for special campaigns, projects, and donor related events.

Create and run queries and produce financial, analytical, and statistical reports of development activities.

Learn more effective cultivations and engagement of current and potential donors.

Support donor stewardship initiatives including overseeing appropriate and timely donor recognition, cross departmental collaboration, and other engagement efforts.

Answer phone calls, collaborate work with appropriate departments to answer questions and provide solutions.

Be an active and positive team member with occasional evening and weekend involvement.

Assist with at least 3 Special Delivery Events (i.e. Produce On Wheels, Hurricane Preparedness and Thanksgiving Day Gift Bags) per year primarily held the third Saturday of the month.

Adherence to ethical fundraising and familiarity with the Donor Bill of Rights.

Other duties as assigned.


Team Member Training and Mentorship:

Onboarding training of internal processes, organizational mission and the Benevon fundraising model will be provided.

Director of Development and Senior Director of Finance and Administration will provide mentorship and guidance including but not limited to best practices in fundraising, project management and administration.
