****Position Description****
**Job Summary**
Provides support to the Manufacturing programs at the Granville, NY location, within the defined World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework, in a manner consistent with Saint-Gobain EHS Policies and Principles of Conduct and Action.
Candidates are applying to be considered for off-shift positions (2nd and 3rd shift). **New hire base rate of $18.16 with $.75 increase at 6 months. In addition, $1.00 shift premium for both 2nd and 3rd shift.**
Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Material Handler is primarily responsible for the efficient movement and tracking of raw materials, supplies, finished goods, and waste products in and out of all production work areas to ensure smooth continuous manufacturing operations. As needed, the Material Handler may also assist in other assigned areas. The Materials Handler operates powered lift trucks and manual hand trucks in moving a variety of materials to and from various places within and without the plant.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Delivers/removes raw materials, packaging supplies, and waste materials as needed.
Tracks moved materials in computer system per SOPs.
Assists operators in maintaining smooth flow of product throughout plant.
Assists in maintaining facility cleanliness.
Inspects and maintains material handling equipment per SOP.
Safely and efficiently operates material handling and tracking equipment.
Assists in conducting cycle counts and physical inventory of material.
Performs other duties as needed.
Recommends and implements methods to increase the quality of products and services.
Participates in self-development activities and training of others.
Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices.
Performs other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.
Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
Positions are required to work overtime as scheduled. This includes before/after shift or weekend shift.
**Required Qualifications**
* High School diploma or equivalent- Required
* Associates degree- Preferred
* Relevant forklift experience- Required
* Relevant manufacturing work experience- Preferred
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more- Required
* Basic computer skills- Required
* Well organized and able to operate independently or as member of team with minimal supervision- Required
* Ability to read, interpret, and communicate decisions (oral and written) related to material flow and storage in English- Required
* Ability to work overtime- Required
