A Brief Overview

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining network infrastructure assets and supports, installs and configures the organization's local and wide area networks including communication links. This position helps users achieve optimum use of their computer networks by analysis, installation, training, and problem resolution for the local and wide area networks and implements solutions to integrate desktop and shared devices e.g., printers, into local and wide area networks and/or other host-based networks.

Responsibilities also include proactive documentation and development of the environment to ensure optimum efficiency and security practices. This individual will also be expected to work with junior network engineers to further develop skillsets and lead the team to become more capable to support the business.


What You'll Do

  • Design and implementation of new network solutions and/or improving efficiency of current networks
  • Install, configure, update and support network equipment (ie routers, switches, load balancer, DNS, VPN)
  • Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Updating and maintain network equipment to the enterprise standard
  • Develop and maintain all network systems supporting documentation
  • Provide guidance to junior network engineers in professional development and skill enhancement to build support redundancy for the network team
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related technical field preferred
  • 4-6 years Network Engineer experience required
  • Ability to implement & deliver complex technical projects within a defined schedule covering LAN, WAN, Wireless, 4/5G, SD-WAN, VPNs, NAC, and Zero Trust (High proficiency)
  • Ability to implement repeatable, reliable, and scalable network architectures with fault tolerance, performance tuning, system monitoring, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery in mind (High proficiency)
  • Must be able to work effectively across multiple efforts/projects with limited supervision and effectively communicate with all areas of the organization bridge the gap between IT & Business (high proficiency)
  • Familiarity with network automation scripting languages (ex. Python, Perl) and/or tools (high proficiency)
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, NXOS , BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, FCOE and FC environments (high proficiency)
