Responsibilities:

  • Create, own, and maintain physical fabric library to insure consistency of quality across all vendors.
  • Source fabrics and yarns with mills and vendors.
  • Approve all fabrics & yarns for appearance, quality, weight, and hand-feel, using formal guidelines and technical knowledge.
  • Responsible for all fabric information in PLM in the BOM and the library.
  • Partner with vendors, Technical Design & Quality Control Director on fabric testing and resolution.
  • Partner with & guide Design toward proper fabric selection for style and color, dye, wash, print execution at needed price point.
  • Partner with Sourcing for best vendor/mill allocation for best fabrication and execution.
  • Partner with Vendors, Sourcing and Quality Control for resolution of bulk fabric, print, wash, dye execution issues.
  • Must fully understand fabric development and manufacturing process to ensure compliance to all lead times as set by Coldwater Creek company calendar.
  • Manage fabric liability.
  • Leverage buyer s knowledge to learn about customers likes and dislikes and identify key fabrications. Strong awareness concerning returns reporting.
  • Daily communication with all overseas offices.
  • Possible travel overseas.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Product Development with expertise in Fabric Development and Execution.
  • Must have strong knowledge around fabric/garment print, dye, and wash execution.
  • A team player with a demonstrated ability to problem solve and partner with appropriate Merchants, Sourcing, Design, Technical Design team members and others to effect solutions.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of competitive intelligence for awareness of global fabric competencies.
  • College Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required software. PLM, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
