Spencer-Ogden is partnered with a Civil Engineering firm in Chicago that is looking to grow their team of engineers. This person is expected to have extensive experience in roadway design and hold a PE license. This position is available in multiple locations around the country.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the technical design aspects of transportation projects, with a particular focus on: roadway geometric design, utility and drainage planning, hydraulic modeling and analysis, maintenance of traffic operations, traffic analysis and traffic signal design, coordination of public involvement, completion of Phase I/II design tasks for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
- Ensure design plans adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Liaise with municipal clients, utility districts, and state agencies.
- Enhance the visibility of our firm s services by participating in conferences and symposia.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- At least 3 years of professional experience.
- Must hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois.
- Prior experience in roadway design for municipalities, various Illinois counties, and IDOT preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is mandatory.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation is advantageous.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with strong relationship-building capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a collaborative approach to challenges.
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
