About the Role & Program

Are you looking for an opportunity in the exciting world of advertising sales? Let's learn more about internship opportunities within Disney Advertising Sales!

Disney Advertising Sales (DAS) is responsible for advertising sales and coordinated marketing for The Walt Disney Company's entertainment and sports offerings through linear, digital, social, addressable, and radio businesses. This includes ABC, ABC News, Disney Channels Worldwide, ESPN Networks, Freeform, Disney Digital, FX Networks, National Geographic Networks, Hulu, and its eight ABC-owned local stations. We work with media agencies and consumer brands to sell advertising via a "one-stop shop" approach across TV, digital, and radio platforms representing all Disney brands.

Specifically, in the pillar of Client Brand Solutions within DAS, the focus is product placement, product integration, and branded entertainment that gives a brand exposure outside of their traditional media buy. It acts as a liaison between Sales and shows/networks/streaming services to help identify, sell, and implement custom opportunities that are mutually effective and drive revenue for the company.

What You Will Do

As an intern, you will develop an understanding of every aspect of the sales and solutions process via exposure to core building blocks such as business development, strategic proactive and reactive sales, marketing presentations, and pre-/post-sale support, from research and insights to traffic and campaign stewardship.

You will have the ability to shadow and work with team members. We will work on an array of fundamental tasks which include:

  • Prospecting: Learn sales tactics to target and develop leads, improving insights and creative thought-starters to generate client dialogue. Research competitive landscape and share topline lessons with the team as we review.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate to build strategic packages and/or customized creative concepts to address client needs. Assist team members in crafting pitch presentations and recaps based on a variety of integrations and sponsored elements.
  • Sales Calls: Observe pitch meetings.
  • Project Execution: Post-sale implementation of brand flight or custom campaign. Edit and digitize integrations for promotional/highlight reels, client copies, etc.

In addition to acquiring discipline-specific on-the-job training and skills development, we will expose you to broader learning opportunities including departmental meetings, DAS senior leader meet & greets, cross-division internship experiences, and the opportunity to learn key industry terminology and hone professional interpersonal skills.
