Essential Functions:



The Field Sales Representative is responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through closing within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for executing assigned sales plans, goals, and targets in Minnesota and North Dakota. The Field Sales Representative is responsible for selling capital equipment, products and services that solve customer needs along with building and maintaining strong customer relations to grow new business and maintain existing customers by providing strong, effective, and meaningful customer relationships through strong customer service.



Job Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Works closely with the Regional Sales VP/Manager on sales orders, sales generation, and sales planning.
  • Professionally represent our products to new and to existing customers.
  • Continually build pipelines through cold-calling, networking, and maintaining positive relationships; internally and externally.
  • Share best sales practices with team.
  • Be actively involved with sales industry associations.
  • Ensure documentation and reports are accurate and are received on time.
  • Help to facilitate quotations, product samples and deliveries.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in business or related field preferred but not required if exceptional experience.
  • Five + years of experience selling capital equipment (preferably in the food processing and/or packaging industry).
  • Experience selling to the meat/protein industry is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written verbal and platform skills.
  • Aggressive, enthusiastic, and determined individual with a proven track record of success.
  • Understands importance of selling equipment with the added service component and working closely with service team.
  • Ability to travel 50% - 70% overnight during the week throughout the territory (a large concentration of the customer base is within 150 miles of Minneapolis).
  • MS Office suite of products and specifically Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Comfortable communicating with people on the shop floor to presidents of companies.
  • Must reside in Minnesota, ideally in Greater Minneapolis.
