JOB SUMMARY: Our client ,a growing hard goods/equipment manufacturer with multiple facilities in Ohio is looking for Production Manager- M-TH Night shift (5pm-2am) to provide leadership for people, projects and work processes within manufacturing You will help to manage and be a key participant in tactical and some strategic planning functions for a specific plant and/or department to include Machine Shop, Maintenance, Assembly, Specialty Shop, Supply Chain and other areas leading both individual contributors as well as supervisors (200-300 employees) By driving needed change, ensuring consistency in work processes, making certain resources are readily in place and fully utilized, this manager helps meet various business priorities along with fostering individual and team development in support of those goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides line level leadership for a manufacturing shift involving multiple departments. Evaluates shift performance and then plans, develops, and implements changes that meet or exceed business performance goals. Areas of particular focus include safety, quality or efficiency. Works with other resources, management, and employees, to reach these goals at a company-wide level.
  • Plans and directs overall shift production schedules and work for the combined areas to maximize production output while minimizing costs.
  • Manages performance of direct reports and their staff. Assists with feedback, disciplinary actions, employment decisions, and company policy administration. Partners proactively with peer roles to develop consistent resolutions to employee issues.
  • Establishes shift, manufacturing and process performance standards and goals, measuring, controlling, initiating corrective actions and reporting the results as appropriate.
  • Recommends and implements changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization to assure that the objectives of the area and Company are met.
  • Tracks, compiles, and presents information required for a review of area performance metrics, and customer satisfaction results. Provides suggestions for improving metrics.
  • Provides leadership, development and coordination for direct reports and teams by ensuring clear job expectations, goals, training, training plans, communication and morale are in place to maximize individual and team aspects of the Manufacturing Department. Provides clear and defined feedback for both performance and development. Coaches to develop high performing teams.
  • Establishes standards, protocols and procedures as necessary to ensure a safe, quality and efficient workflow. This includes the standard for acceptable housekeeping as well as working with appropriate resources to provide adequate workspaces, tools/equipment in place to conduct work, building safety and security, and maintenance activities.
  • Actively supports and promotes company performance improvement processes, specifically partnering with other functional resources, management and employees to drive variances down and improve equipment or process performance.
  • Adheres to established Company standards and procedures. Ensures safe work practices, quality work and security of all Company data.
  • Follows all ISO procedures and processes related to job tasks, if applicable.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in business, engineering or related field OR a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in manufacturing processes and leadership
  • 3+ years of applied leadership experience in a large scale manufacturing environment
  • Industrial equipment,heavy machinery, complex assemblies or hard goods experience ideal
