Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our technical team and drive the execution of our innovative projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of senior management in high-tech startups, exceptional technical expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams through all stages of technology development, from concept to market.

Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all aspects of the engineering department, including technical staff, consultants, labs, designs, and projects.Report directly to senior management as directed by the Company, providing strategic insights and recommendations to drive company objectives.Manage and mentor a team of managers and individuals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Build and maintain a world-class research lab and team, ensuring the successful execution of research initiatives and projects.Drive technology development from theoretical concepts to lab experiments, prototypes, and ultimately, market-ready products.Manage the hiring, firing, and development of staff, identifying and cultivating top talent to support company growth.Effectively communicate complex technical concepts verbally and in writing, both internally and externally, including presentations to the board of directors and investors.Handle diverse personalities and skill sets within the team, fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and innovation.

Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a high-tech startup environment.PhD in Engineering or equivalent experience, with a focus on Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related fields.Expertise in areas such as photonics, device physics, nanotubes, semiconductor manufacturing, and simulation/modeling.Proven track record of successfully moving technology from theoretical concepts to market-ready products.Strong general management skills, including hiring, firing, and building up a diverse technical team.Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience presenting to executive leadership, board members, and investors.
