Job Title:
Maintenance Tech- Facilities Services

Job Summary:
To perform repair work spanning multiple trade crafts such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and refrigeration. To inspect equipment located in mechanical rooms.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred. Two (2) years related experience; healthcare preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

Valid driver's license required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or their structures. Knowledge of machines and tools to include uses, repair and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs minor repairs to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Performs inspection of equipment room and other inventories.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspects drives, motors, and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, and performs other maintenance activities.
  • Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies; complies with workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Documents work performed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Completes and documents work performed in a timely manner and maintains quality standards.
  • Meets safety guidelines; compliant with accrediting and licensing organizations.


Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking.
