Job Details

The Social Responsibility, Program Manager II is responsible for recommending and executing social impact activities by engaging the Passion to Help of our team members related to random acts of kindness and teacher appreciation initiatives, employee engagement (volunteering, dollars for doers, volunteer time off and special projects), and corporate giving (cause-related event sponsorships and special projects as assigned). This role focuses on key programs and initiatives that advance Desert Financial Credit Union and its subsidiaries performance and recognition as a responsible corporate citizen within its social impact priorities of Education & Workforce Development, Financial Wellness, Health & Wellness, Hunger & Food Insecurity, Housing & Homelessness & Youth Development.

What you will do here:

Programs, Project and Event Management

Plan, lead and manage the execution of existing medium and large-sized programs, events and activities for employees, leaders and local community in collaboration with other Program Managers and Coordinators

Design and implement the enhancement of existing social impact programs, projects and events by working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment with the credit union s social impact priorities

Support the development of communications, content production and purchasing of collateral to support timely program execution in collaboration with the Communications Program Manager, Marketing and Purchasing teams

Support grand openings and statewide expansion in alignment with corporate strategy including identification of non-profits

Lead Foundation Scholarships application process in alignment with our education priority as designated by the Desert Financial Foundation Board

Develop, coordinate and execute sustainable fundraising initiatives including internal and external solicitation and donor cultivation

Annually draft grant recommendations, solicit invite-only interest form, determine nonprofits that move on to full grant application, review and score applicants with the committee, share receipt of award with nonprofits, develop recognition events with leadership

Monthly review charitable event submissions and execute approved event deliverables such as program advertisements, guest invites, and talking points for speaking engagements

Lead governance and compliance activities for Desert Financial Foundation

Relationship Cultivation and Communication

Build strong employee engagement elements by working with internal stakeholders, and leaders to continue to build an internal ecosystem of volunteering

Serve as a mentor, coach, and project-based supervisor for the Volunteer Captains, committee members and team Coordinators

Lead, manage, and inspire a cross-functional team of internal volunteers for multiple programs including recruitment, training, evaluation, and volunteer appreciation

Serve as a primary contact to coordinate with beneficiaries regarding project plans and ensuring compliance with contest rules

Maintain stakeholder relationships with internal team members, non-profit organizations, and Foundation Board Members

Reporting & Budgeting

Collaborate on program budgets and then successfully administer and operate within that approved budget to optimize financial efficiency

Provide data for monthly reporting and budgeting to successfully communicate the impact of programs internally and externally.

What you will need:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor s degree in Community or Public Relations, Social Work, Sociology/Social Science, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred; or Equivalent combination of education and experience required.

4+ years of Program Management experience required.

4+ years of Community Relations, Social Responsibility or related experience required.

Budget Planning experience required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong presentation skills. Ability to communicate and make effective presentations to internal and external leaders/business partners and external audiences; represents the department across all levels of the business required.

Good time-management skills. Ability to work efficiently in pressure situations and demonstrate a high-level of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment and handling multiple assignments/projects simultaneously to meet deadlines required.

Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships and lead through influence with internal and external partners and prioritize action and results. required.

Good Project management skills with demonstrated ability to support concurrent projects while ensuring successful completion. required.

Demonstrated expertise planning and successfully executing medium- to large-sized events independently with ability to stay calm and organized while managing details. . required.

Strong budget management experience demonstrating the ability to effectively plan, recommend and adhere to approved program and event budgets required.

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, evaluate multiple options, and make well-informed decisions required.

Strong reporting skills with the ability to generate accurate and concise reports, including financial and performance analysis required.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Ability to travel up to 20% and provides support and oversight in a high volume of community activities and events that occur outside of traditional work hours required.

Valid Arizona driver license. Motor vehicle record will be screened and the incumbent must meet Company guidelines required.
