( The Department ofNeurosciences seeks to fill a new Research Facility Director Position tooversee operations within the Preclinical Core of the Center for Brain Recoveryand Repair.The Preclinical Coreprovides recourses and support for multiple investigators seeking to integrateinterdisciplinary approaches to assess brain plasticity and repair in rodentmodels of neurological disorders. This position will be under the directsupervision of the Faculty Core Director, but will involve interacting withmultiple research labs utilizing the Preclinical Core Facility.Duties of this position include (but not limitedto a) provides training and service for the use of 19 pieces of instrumentationfor behavioral, optical and histological equipment b) creates, maintains, andimplements protocols for training and services c) oversight and upkeep ofinstrumentation, lab animals, and SOPs for core utilization d) managestechnical staff and student core users.The Research FacilityDirector will collaborate with the CBRR Executive Committee to provide guidanceand strategic support for core research projects and review projects for pilotfunding from CBRR, establish MOUs for core use, oversee scheduling, billing andtracking core utilization. The Research Facility Director will also beresponsible for coordination of compliance, including EHOS, IACUC, and NIHfunding standards.
