Job Description:
As our Estimator, your primary responsibility is to ensure the timely completion of bid requests, manage orders efficiently, and collaborate with our operations team to ensure the successful execution of each project.
You will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales team to manage client information and handle requests for quotations (RFQ).
- Generate accurate and comprehensive quotations for projects of various sizes and types, adhering to deadlines.
- Coordinate and transfer successful bid packages (including drawings, routings, specifications, etc.) to the engineering department.
- Liaise with operations to guarantee the successful fulfilment of each project.
- Foster a positive environment during customer negotiations to optimize revenue generation.
- Provide the Sales and Marketing Manager with reports detailing bid outcomes and "closing" rates.
Desired Experience:
- Ideally, possess a minimum of three (3) years of estimating experience within manufacturing or commercial sectors.
- Demonstrated understanding of costs and their relevance to the estimating process.
- Excellent communication abilities with customers, suppliers, and internal staff.
- Proficiency in mathematical skills.
- Capability to visualize and interpret customer drawings, designs, layouts, and specifications; proficient in performing take-offs using architectural drawings.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in utilizing MS Office applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
