Purpose of Position: The Business Development Professional specializing in road construction plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and expanding our market presence. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with potential clients, and promoting our services to key stakeholders. Strategic insights and industry expertise will be instrumental in positioning Specialties Company as the preferred partner for road construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential clients, markets, and opportunities for road construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and prospects through targeted networking, cold calling, and market analysis.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, including government agencies, engineering firms, contractors, and developers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals that address client needs and objectives.
  • Lead the negotiation and closing of contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for Specialties Company.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and competitive developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Represent Specialties Company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Track and report on business development activities, including sales metrics, revenue forecasts, and market trends.
  • Provide strategic input and feedback to senior management to support business growth initiatives and optimize resource allocation.
  • Uphold our values and standards of professionalism in all interactions with clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or account management within the road construction industry.
  • Deep understanding of road construction processes, technologies, and best practices.
  • Strong network of contacts within the transportation and infrastructure sectors, particularly government agencies and private developers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant business development tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Compensation:
