Food Production Packer
A Food Production Packer works in a food manufacturing or processing facility and is responsible for packaging food products in an efficient, safe, and hygienic manner. They work as part of a team to ensure that products are properly packed, labeled, and prepared for distribution. Food Production Packers play a crucial role in maintaining product quality, meeting production targets, and adhering to food safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Packaging and Labeling:
- Operate packaging machinery, such as conveyor belts, sealing machines, or labeling equipment.
- Package food products according to standard operating procedures, ensuring proper portioning, sealing, and labeling.
- Follow packaging specifications and guidelines to maintain product quality and presentation.
- Verify and ensure accuracy of product labels, including expiration dates, batch codes, and nutritional information.
Quality Control:
- Perform visual inspections of packaged food products to check for defects, contamination, or deviations from quality standards.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and replenish packaging materials, such as boxes, bags, labels, or containers, to ensure continuous production.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
- Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation practices, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following handwashing protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including packaging stations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow food safety regulations and company policies to ensure the safety and integrity of food products.
- Participate in training programs related to food safety, hygiene, and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Complete production logs, batch records, or other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Record production data, including quantities produced, packaging materials used, and any production issues or downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of product codes, lot numbers, or other traceability information.
Qualifications and Skills - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in food safety or production is beneficial.
- Previous experience in food production, packaging, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
- Familiarity with packaging equipment and machinery is a plus.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with coworkers and follow instructions.
- Basic math skills for measuring and portioning food products.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift packages or materials.

- Pay Rate is $18.50 per hour
