Real Estate Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

Review accounts payable and receivable everyday to make sure invoices and expense reports are accurate
Prepare detailed reconciliations for each account to ensure every transaction is accounted for
Prepare for quarterly reporting using standard best practices and assist in monthly closings
Stay on top of any needed collections and make sure our bills are paid on time
Create detailed journal entries and post them to the general ledger (GL) to track all income statements and expenses
Adapt to the needs of the real estate team to complete other accounting tasks when necessary
Enter financial data into computer software, making sure all bills and invoices are filed correctly
Facilitate all incoming payments and outgoing checks, including printing, obtaining signatures for, and distributing checks as necessary


Qualifications:

Background in real estate preferred
Proficient in property management software, such as Yardi
The position requires3 or more yearsof bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Proficiency in personal computer skills, keyboard, Internet search, email correspondence, math,Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheetsetc., and other software applications preferred (i.e.Quickbooks, Appfolio).
Effective communication and interaction with the management team, military partners, co-workers, vendors, or residents; sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete assigned duties to ensure operational objectives are achieved
Must possess a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions, under all circumstances
Working with rental portfolios for at least 5 years is strongly preferred
Ability to travel to other local office locations for work, training, meetings, and other work-related activities
Experience in accounting, real estate accounting, or property accounting preferred
