We are partnered with an IT Consulting Firm contracted with the STate of California in the search of a PAL Technical Project Manager

Job Title: PAL Project Manager

Contract Duration: 2 years

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: $85-$95/hr

Start Date: ASAP

Overview: We are seeking two experienced PAL Project Managers to join our team for a 2-year contract. As a PAL Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of IT projects for state agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all stages of the PAL process, from discovery and analysis to procurement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Conduct risk management, schedule management, and resource control activities.
  • Prepare and revise State Budget Change Proposals (BCP) in alignment with PAL and Department of Finance (DOF) documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience, with at least 4 years as a Senior PM on large IT projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with drafting and revising PAL documentation.
  • Experience with schedule management tools like MS Project.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading Agile ceremonies using tools like JIRA.
  • Familiarity with business process review and gap analysis.
  • Ability to work in a heavily documented environment.
Desired Skills and Experience

7 years PM experience, with 4 years as Senior PM on large IT projects.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Valid PMP certificate from PMI.
