Nexien Inc. is looking to hire experienced Data Center Technicians capable of providing first-level support, ensuring security, conducting audits, managing inventory, and handling data center infrastructure documentation. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, follow standard operating procedures, possess a positive work attitude, and have a strong sense of responsibility.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform hardware maintenance, which includes the adept repair and replacement of malfunctioning components.
  • Skillfully install, rack, and securely mount servers and switches.
  • Keep a watchful eye on temperature and humidity levels, promptly reporting any noteworthy discoveries.
  • Dedicate yourself to upholding and enhancing data center security standards.
  • Be a valuable contributor during audits and adeptly manage data center floor layouts.
  • Vigilantly monitor PDU power communication and diligently inspect equipment for compliance with our security standards.
  • Keep meticulous records of inventory, including spare parts, equipment, and tools.
  • Leverage cutting-edge data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software to streamline your tasks.
  • Troubleshoot issues and ensure they are escalated within our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Foster clear and effective communication with end-users, stakeholders, and our invaluable support teams.
  • Craft informative daily pass-down reports, always adhering to our established protocols.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in a Data Center (racks and servers) technician role or a comparable position.
  • An associate degree in an IT-related field to bolster your knowledge and expertise.
  • Proficiency in computer operating systems, including but not limited to MS Windows
  • A solid understanding of computer systems, networks, servers, and the art of system maintenance.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of computer equipment, spanning from laptops and servers to printers and routers.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a knack for tackling complex issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a natural inclination for critical thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to foster seamless collaboration.

Preferred:

  • Networking experience with CompTIA ServerPlus, CCNA and/or Network+ certifications is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a data center environment, including equipment installation and cable management.
