Job Description: Installation of DWDM equipment (Primarily Ciena and Infinera) in a Telco Central Office or Data Center environment. Locations will also include Huts, POP s, Repeater sites, etc. that are part of the end client s national or regional network.
Job duties as follows:
1. Performing GR-1275 / TP76300 based Installation tasks, including but not limited to telco rack mounting, superstructure modification as needed, PDU installation, shelf mounting, grounding, alarm and interbay cable connections, power lug crimping / connections, fiber jumper installation, cleaning, scoping, power verification.
2. Light Testing / configuration of the OEM equipment. Using test equipment for basic configuration (laptop - IP addressing & setup, Optical Power Meter, OTDR, etc.) Working remotely with OEM and / or carrier NOC teams for connectivity to system and handoff for more detailed network provisioning and configuration.
3. 3rd Shift (Overnight Shift) and 100% onsite.
4. Primary field point of contact at the job site level for PM, client s site contacts, material / tool needs, overseeing of any other techs on site to ensure client is represented professionally and the job is completed correctly and on time.
