Part Time Fitness Teacher - Job DescriptionThe Greater Dayton School (GDS) is looking for an elementary Fitness teacher to help us build and implement a one-of-a-kind fitness program for students in grades PreK-5. Over time, GDS will grow our fitness program to serve students in grades PreK-8.Below is a list of responsibilities of the Fitness Teacher: * Roles & Responsibilities: * ? Collaborate with our full-time fitness teacher team to plan and teach fitness classes. ? Setup a system for classes of students to use wearable technology to monitor heart rate, sleep, and physical activity. ? Safely and actively supervise fitness classes and encourage play. ? Grade student fitness, sleep habits, and nutrition and use digital portfolios to document student development. ? Organize and manage the fitness room, gymnasium, outdoor track/field, and outdoor sports facilities, including supplies and equipment and the classroom environment. ? Keep the gymnasium and fitness center clean. Store fitness equipment daily. Character Traits and Preferred Experience: ? Love kids and be an elite fitness instructor ? Supremely organized ? Deep content knowledge in fitness, wellness, sleep, and nutrition ? Expertise in health wearable technology and monitoring ? At least 1 year of teaching fitness, sports, nutrition, or PE to elementary age students ? Expertise in teaching techniques: Teaching kids how to exercise safely and develop a life-long love for staying fit, sleeping well, and eating healthy food ? Strong classroom management and classroom procedures ? Preferred - Experience with competency-based learning assessment models. * Compensation + Details: * ? Compensation - $40 per hour (approximate $33,600 annual pay) ? Hours - 8:00am-12:00pm (approximately 210 work days annually) ?
