Role: Medical Device Assembler Technician

This entry-level Medical Devices Assembler Technician is responsible for a variety of duties including refurbishing, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, assembly, fabricating, cleaning, prepping, rebuilding, incoming QC and outgoing QC, documentation and other duties related to the refurbishing of goods, assembly of goods or reselling of goods with a successful delivery to a happy, satisfied customer.

What you will do

- Assists in refurbishing and testing of anesthesia systems, ESU systems, Patient Monitors, Infusion pumps and other devices used in hospitals and surgery centers

- Assists with testing or troubleshooting surgical tables or surgical lights

- Rebuilds and calibrates anesthetic vaporizers

- Assemble veterinary anesthesia machines or oxygen concentrators

- Sorts and bags used goods as ready to sell with all cables, manuals

- Documents deficiencies in used goods coordinate technical assessments to provide estimates of repairs

- Consults with sales and technical staff to determine if equipment should be written off, removed from inventory, or used as parts.

- Assesses newly received items bought from auction or other vendors need incoming assessments done prior to inventory storage.

- Bags, boxes, and barcode tags newly received inventory for storage so that the details of unit features are external to the packaging for easy viewing, and they are readily accessible for physical inspection.

- Makes suggestions for improvements to procedures and processes upon performing the various duties

- Provides delivery dates for various orders and manage the ordering of goods necessary to complete the project.

- Manages depot service request for patient monitors, ESU and tabletop sterilizers

- Champions Integrity and Trust.

- Work overtime as required.

- Ability to move from department and buildings to interact with others.


Qualifications

- 1 to 2 years of work experience, internships acceptable.

- Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed records of inventory and assessments.

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Willingness to learn new procedures and technologies related to medical equipment refurbishment and testing.

- Must have visual skills to operate medical equipment for inspecting work.

- Must have excellent eye hand coordination and dexterity to perform intricate assemble activities.

- Able to read, write, and communicate in English.

- Able to understand basic math concepts and application to specifications.

- Understand procedures and able to follow instructions.

- Must be hands-on, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.

- Flexibility to travel to hospitals to coordinate the removal or installation of goods bought or sold.

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Vocational or technical education/certification preferred


Work Environment

Work is performed inside a warehouse; mostly on feet, semi air-conditioned warehouse. Professional office environment/office building, with ambient temperature and under florescent lighting, with minimal noise levels. Incumbent routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, phone, filing cabinets and fax machines.
