The CAD Drafting Technician performs technical and design drafting assignments for commercial and residential projects. The Technician will apply fundamental engineering and advanced CAD drafting skills that are required to formulate and prepare complex and detailed engineering drawings associated with the construction, modification, and maintenance of projects and facilities.
Responsibilities
Utilize CAD drafting skills to prepare drawings from rough sketches, notes, marked-up prints, written/verbal instructions, and calculations.
Research, extract, and integrate engineering data obtained from various sources to produce required CAD documented designs.
Interpret, extract, validate, and integrate engineering and geographic data from internal and external customers, engineers, and analysts to construct the required products.
Prepare and conduct training of resources to improve skill and preparation for more complex assignments and subsequent advancement.
Apply engineering theory and/or perform necessary mathematical calculations to achieve the completed design.
Complete field checks and verifies accuracy of maps, exhibits, and records.
Makes recommendations for process improvements.
Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications
Experience in one of the following functions: CAD Technician, MSD, Design Technician, GIS Technician, or Engineering Technician. Related experience will be considered.
Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
Applicable expertise and technical knowledge.

Work attentively and diligently.
Experience working with external customers and meeting expectations.
