Position Description

Purpose
Under general supervision, performs complex financial analysis, forecasting and modeling for the Treasury function to control the daily, monthly and yearly exposure or positioning of the company's cash. Specifically, conducts financial, statistical, and analytical studies; prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports, statements, journal entries and claims for reimbursement according to prescribed guidelines; performs related duties as required.

Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:

Technical / Specialty Area

  1. Completes daily cash report and forecasts cash flow to determine actual cash position of the company; determines the placement of funds either via bank transfers into and out of investment accounts; prepares related reports and journal entries, invests cash and reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  2. Administers capital leases and conducts lease analysis to determine available financing options that will improve financial status; interprets data affecting investment programs, such as price, equipment usage patterns and terms, stability, future trends in investment risks, and economic influences to identify and make recommendations for financial value opportunities; considers tax implications.
  3. Conducts post investment review to evaluate the spend and controls of programs in order to evaluate and benchmark profit and cost efficiencies; assembles, interprets and summarizes data; prepares reports and models; makes presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  4. Prepares complex financial analysis and modeling as requested or required by Treasurer or other management in order to assess cash flow demands and impact for the company; insures company performs within metrics and parameters of the bank's financial requirements; assists internal customers in compiling data and interpreting legal reporting requirements and regulations; creates and maintains statistical reports; plans and monitors timelines to meet strict deadlines in reporting regulations; reviews and verifies statistical and financial information including independent audit reports and long-term debt documents.
  5. Analyzes financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making investment and spending decisions; identifies profitability of potential mergers and acquisitions or public/private partnerships by analyzing metric information; calculating key ratios; identifying areas of tax savings.
  6. Responds to audit inquiries in a timely manner; as required, make calls to the bank directly to clarify adjustments or to clarify items on the bank statements in order to reconcile activity or properly code it; liaise with auditors to confirm bank balances as of a certain date.
  7. Compiles and prepares financial prequalification information required to bid jobs, and maintains and updates existing project qualification financial information; compiles financial related information from various sources such as summaries of past projects, balance sheets and financial statements, and either enters information into requestors website or prepares prequalification package; updates prequalification log.
  8. Reviews monthly Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) reports for management decisions regarding accounts with past due balances and considers impact on cash flow and cash balances.
  9. Visibly supports and ensure adherence to Teichert's Injury Prevention and Safety program, the implementation/interpretation of safety programs, and active participation in safety meetings and training sessions.
  10. Administers treasury products and services with financial partners (accounts, merchant processing, on-line reporting, authorities, authorizations, new account setups and supplies).

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, or equivalent combination of education and training. CPA or MBA desirable.
Experience& Industry Expertise:
  • Minimum of three years' experience in banking, cash management, reporting consolidation and financial analysis, preferably in a treasury or finance environment.
  • Accounting/GAAP knowledge
  • Treasury operations experience
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in conducting management studies, system analyses and financial analyses
  • Knowledge of internal control systems and procedures

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 40 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours during peak seasons, closings and system upgrades.
  • Work Environment: May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings. Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$95,000.00 - $133,000.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
