Job Purpose

This position will engage members to resolve outstanding delinquent accounts and minimize losses to Honda FCU and its members while maintaining a high level of member service and professionalism when dealing with difficult and sensitive situations. The Collector is responsible for handling non-direct collection and direct collection duties which are critical to maintain legal and regulatory requirements and essential to provide support to the Collections Team.



Key Accountabilities

  • Communicate with members regarding account delinquency, overdrawn accounts, and irregular activities
  • Develop custom solutions to support credit union members during times of financial hardship
  • Review and update credit bureaus, mobile deposits, returned checks, deposit fraud, and Service Members Civil Relief Act strategies
  • Specialty collection tasks 1) Fraud Management 2) System Administration 3) Collateral



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Industry, or job-specific skills acquired through an Apprenticeship
  • Working Knowledge of State and Federal Collection Laws and Procedures
  • Technical knowledge and skills required:
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reasoning ability to solve problems
  • Member Service and Communication Skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills with the Ability to multi-task
