Production Supervisor


Job Details

The Production Supervisor for our solar manufacturing company will oversee and coordinate the production activities within our facility. This role requires ensuring that production processes run smoothly, meeting quality standards and deadlines, while also managing a team of production workers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production workers and day-to-day production.

  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.

  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.

  • Train, mentor, and coach production staff to improve skills and performance.

  • Write, compile, and continuously revise and improve training materials and documents.

  • Provide ongoing feedback and suggestions to leadership team on quality and improvement around production.

  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure availability of materials needed for production.

  • Develop and maintain process documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.

  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize production schedules and resolve issues.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.

  • Generate reports on production metrics, including output, efficiency, and quality.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to production management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

  • Corrected vision to normal range; normal hearing and talking is required for verbal communications

  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor's Degree, additional education, or certifications in relevant fields preferred.

  • Proven experience in a production supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with solar manufacturing processes is a plus.

  • Prior experience in automated manufacturing processes.
