Behavioral Health Professional (Therapist):



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Complete assessments give written diagnostic impression and development treatment plan. (within 30 days of admission)


Plan activities that will help client achieve therapeutic goals in conjunction with client, family member(s), treating psychiatrist, case manager, depending client s needs.


Prepare and maintain all appropriate paperwork including treatment plan, treatment plan reviews, prior authorizations requests, progress notes, FARS, contact logs, discharge summaries, any outcome measures required by State or funding sources and weekly/monthly reports.


Communicate family and other community agencies on behalf of clients.


Attend and participate in all training activities, staff meetings and supervision.


Required to possess CPR/First Aid certificate of training or obtain it within six months of hire.


Prepare, coordinate and lead client s scheduled activities.


Maintains certification and/or licensure for field (i.e. registered intern requirements, CEU requirements).


Will be trained and learn to use the current data/clinical computer program necessary to perform billing and clinical documentation.


Keeps records up to date of all interventions and submits documentation weekly as assigned.


Follows all regulations and policies of the program, Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families.


Perform other duties as assigned by program director and/or clinical supervisor.



Education, Experience, and Skills Required


BHP Unlicensed: A bachelor s or master s level practitioner must work under the supervision of a qualified professional. The individual will meet the following criteria:

  1. Has a bachelor s or master s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field; OR
  2. Certified addiction professionals who are certified by the Florida Certification Board
  3. Certified addiction counselors who are certified by the Florida Certification Board
  4. Certified master s degree level addiction professionals who are certified by the Florida Certification Board; AND
  5. One years of professional experience, direct care, in providing services to person with behavioral illness.


BHP Licensed: A Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts or BHP Licensed includes:

  1. Clinical social workers licensed in accordance with Chapter 491, F.S
  2. Mental health counselors, licensed in accordance with Chapter 491, F.S.
  3. Marriage and family therapists licensed in accordance with Chapter 491, F.S.
  4. Psychologists licensed in accordance with Chapter 490, F.S.
  5. Certified master s level addiction professions who are certified by the Florida Certification Board



LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write and speak in English; Spanish (or other languages) helpful. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
