Job Description:Commitment:The volunteer program requires a six-month commitment - with a minimum of a 3-4 hour shift a week, exceptions being for vacation or illness. We're looking for individuals that can be here consistently. We depend on our volunteers because you truly do make a difference.This is an unpaid position that gives you the opportunity to use your talents, meet new people and experience the pleasure that comes from making a difference in peoples lives.We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to serve in such areas as:Guest Services - Engaging with individuals consistently, helping them find their way within the facility and to their appointments, maybe even escort them in a wheelchair.Surgical Waiting Room - keeping guests updated regarding their patient having surgeryEmergency Room - assisting patients/staff in the Emergency Room, meeting their needsGift Shop Assistant - assisting customers with their purchases, pricing items, and using the cash registerPlaying Music in the Hospital LobbyTransportation (Golf Cart) - Escorting guests within facilityPatient Visitation - visiting with patients in need of companionship or offering courtesy itemsQUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 16 years of ageAble to work alone and independentlyHave good communication and listening skillsAbility to follow instructionsAbility to work with diverse populationsPhysical mobility (walking, bending, standing)Adequate hearing and visionSensitive to patient and family situationsPhysical Requirements:Location:Intermountain Medical CenterWork City:MurrayWork State:UtahScheduled Weekly Hours:0Intermountain Health is an equal opportunity employer.
