**Description**

**Summary**

The Kitchen Hood Suppression Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, servicing, and/or the installation of portable fire extinguishers, kitchen suppression systems, or other applicable fire safety equipment and systems to include emergency lights and exit lights all in accordance with applicable fire codes.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Inspecting and repairing pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems.

* Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems.

* Perform system repairs which includes installation of nozzles and piping and installation, removal or replacement of agent cylinders.

* Perform inspection, service, repair and maintenance of wet and dry chemical fire extinguishing systems/portable fire extinguishers.

* Identifying potentially unfavorable site condition that could compromise the performance of mechanical and/or components of the system.

* Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems.

* Maintain proper documentation for all work performed.

**Additional Requirements**

* Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

* Pre-employment Drug Screen.

* Ability to work overtime, some assignments may require overnight travel.

* Willingness to work flexible schedules to accommodate inspection schedules.

**Education and/or Experience**

Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years experience or equivalent work experience and education combined.

**Certifications/Licenses**

Pre-engineered Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems Permit and Portable Fire Extinguisher Permit required. Nicet preferred.

**Computer Skills**

Microsoft Office, including Work and Excel and ability to accurately complete electronic forms/documents related to the inspection process.
