Position: Intake Coordinator

Location: Melbourne, FL

Pay: $20-24/hr

Hours: 10am-7pm

8+ month contract


The Customer Service and Intake Specialist is responsible for processing and assigning inbound faxes, accepting and conducting outgoing communications with callers, and data entry into the record system.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain expertise and up to date knowledge of customer service policies, procedures, business rules, and related operations
  • Ensure accurate data entry into the record system
  • Follow strict business rules for handling various inquiries
  • Ensure all questions, faxes, emails and calls are responded to and documented in a timely manner and triage inquiries appropriately
  • Ensure accurate reporting of calls and activities to management
  • Escalate issues as per established escalation protocols
  • Provide information and data to management in a timely and complete manner
  • Ensure all department records are current, accurate, and well maintained
  • Effectively utilize company software and tools for coordination of customer service
  • Follow code of conduct, policies and procedures, standard operating procedures and any other business rules applicable. Report any instances of misconduct or non-compliance with policies and procedures
  • Complete assigned training and education requirements
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with team members and clients
  • All other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare customer service/support function
  • Demonstrated strong work-ethic and commitment to providing exceptional support and services to all key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service in a call center environment
  • General knowledge of insurance plans
  • Essential telephone and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member with a focus on exceeding customer/client expectations
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle challenges in a professional manner
  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal communication, time-management, organization and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule if necessary
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and internet applications
