A group of local believers held their first worship service in a local family s basement at 10:10 on Sunday, October 10th, 2010. The founders chose the time and date on purpose to signify the life-verse of the congregation: John 10:10. In this verse, Jesus proclaims His mission, I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.

Today, the same desire to engage with God s Spirit, learn from His word, and share meaningful relationships that is, to live in Christ s life in all of its fullness, guide the community onward.

Located just outside the nation s capital in a 45,000 sq. ft facility, HTC carries a heart for the greater Washington, D.C. area. Likewise, our passion for the nations is unmistakable. Our first two lead pastors were from the United Kingdom, and our current lead pastor, Brian Weaver, has served in ministry for more than 22 years, including leadership roles in the US, Tanzania, and Germany.

We embrace orthodox theology and practice our faith with grace toward others and ourselves. We are multi-ethnic, multi-generational, and multi-socioeconomic.

A broad array of influences intertwine to make HTC a unique environment. Our services include liturgical elements that harken back to our Anglican roots. Yet, we are non-denominational and draw as heavily from contemporary praise & worship songs as we do from hymns. Some clap and raise their hands. Others enjoy in quiet reverence. We don t see one expression of worship as better than another. We re all just here to worship our God and Savior.

Situated just outside of Washington, DC and dead-center on the Eastern Seaboard, Northern Virginia is known for its diverse population, affluent suburbs, countless restaurants, Fortune 500 companies, family-friendly vibe, and its proximity to pristine hiking trails and forests. Starting at HTC in McLean, VA, one can be in downtown DC, in the Appalachian Mountains, or in an international airport each in a mere 30 minutes. The greater DC/Maryland/Virginia area, affectionately known as the DMV, boasts world-class educational opportunities for all ages, the second-largest number of theater seats in the nation, fantastic museums (many of them free), US and World History sites, dozens of concert venues, and numerous professional sports teams. It is also one of America s healthiest regions. But even with all of that included, the true stars of the DMV are its people. Often focused, well-read, involved in interesting work, and ready to engage, the people of NoVa and the greater DMV form a unique culture that is hungry for truth spoken in love.

Our hope is that everyone who encounters God through HTC, and its amazing people, experience the life Jesus promises in John 10:10.
