**Warehouse Assistant (Green Valley/Amado)**
**Department:** Warehouse Operations **Location:** Green Valley, AZ
**Function:** Under the supervision of the Amado and Green Valley Warehouse Manager, this position is primarily responsible for providing general warehouse support, implementing, and maintaining various records and logs and providing direct support to warehouse volunteers. The position also supports general warehouse housekeeping, shipping, and receiving functions.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Responsible for receiving food, and completing an initial inspection of all incoming goods utilizing critical control point guidelines.
* In compliance with CFB safety practices, responsible for performing daily warehousing tasks including unloading vehicles and stock warehouses using standard warehouse power equipment, including electric pallet jack and forklift.
* Tag and store product according to CFB practices like FIFO and FEFO.
* Monitor the condition of all warehouse equipment including freezers, refrigerators, completing and monitoring logs on a daily basis.
* Support warehouse volunteers at each location by providing direction, instructions, training with warehouse sorting, and pantry distribution set-up areas.
* Maintain adequate stock of foods and supplies for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and Commodity Senior Food Program (CSFP) food and oversee all recordkeeping and inventory and ordering for both programs.
* Assist with inventory control and maintaining all related logs and forms.
* Perform the janitorial and custodial duties necessary to ensure compliance with warehouse standards to local health department codes, Feeding America, AIB International and Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona standards of cleanliness and safety both inside the warehouse, in the offices and on the grounds of Amado and Green Valley Resource Centers.
* Establish and adhere to a cleaning schedule to maintain compliance and maintain cleaning logs.
* General housekeeping of motorized floor cleaning machine.
* Maintain good housekeeping practices in all assigned areas daily, including baler area, warehouse area, walk-in coolers, and equipment.
* Receives and accurately records food and monetary donations.
* Occasionally drive Food Bank vehicles to assist in food distributions, food drives or events as needed.
* Attend staff meetings locally or in Tucson, and other meetings when required.
* Perform related duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager and Resource Center Manager.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Experience with forklift and pallet jack operations preferred but not required will train
* Ability to become forklift and pallet jack certified within 30 days of employment
* Food handling and food safety experience preferred but not required will train
* Ability to achieve food safety certification within 30 days of employment
* Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 70 pounds
* Able to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team environment
* Strong communication, listening, people and customer service skills
* Ability to interact professionally with staff and the public; possess high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
* Effective planning and organizational skills
* Understanding and empathy for the needs of the economically and educationally disadvantaged
**Work Environment:**
This position is subject to:
* Outside environmental conditions. No protection from the weather conditions.
* Inside and outside environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and out.
* Noise - there is sufficient noise to cause the need to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
* Vibration Exposure to oscillating movements.
* Hazards Including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and moving vehicles.
* This position is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
