Job Details
I'm partnered with a few civil engineering firms in Florida that are going through a growth period and in need of licensed civil engineers. These companies vary in size and have office locations in Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) registration or the ability to obtain FL PE within 6-12 months through reciprocity.
- Minimum of 2 years' progressive experience in water/wastewater, drainage, flood protection, transportation, and/or site/land development project design.
- Preferred traits: Methodical, precise, and consistent; adaptable to varying work schedules and open to change as project demands shift.
- Process-oriented with strong organizational and technical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interpret directives from project managers and collaborate with design teams.
- Team player with self-motivation to work independently and within a team environment.
- Interest in marketing, business development, and client relations.
- Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle and criminal record.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience supporting water/wastewater, drainage, flood protection, transportation, and site/land development projects.
- Ideally, 5-10 years of civil engineering design experience.
- Proficiency in preparing plans, profiles, cross-sections, elevations, construction details, pipe routing, references, and perspective drawings.
- Previous success in acquiring permits from local, state, and federal review agencies, with direct coordination and communication skills.
- Familiarity with design and plan production software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, or similar platforms.
