My client is looking to add a VP of Operations to their Houston firm. This position will step into a pivotal role that requires a blend of strategic vision, operational prowess, and leadership acumen. Here's how you can navigate and excel in this position:

  1. Strategic Planning & Execution:
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to develop and refine the strategic direction of the Houston Office.

  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adapt strategies as needed to drive sustainable growth and success.
  1. Operations Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations activities, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.

For candidates interested in the Vice President of Operations (VPOP) position at IEI's Houston Office, the following qualifications are necessary:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, or an approved equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry-related experience.
  • At least three years of experience in upper management is required.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Active registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license is mandatory.
  • Additional certifications such as LEED AP, Certified Floodplain Manager, PTOE, etc., are desired.
  • Other relevant licensures or registrations that require Continuing Education for maintenance may be considered in lieu of a PE or SE license.

Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent local travel is required for this position.
  • Moderate travel to other IEI offices and markets may also be necessary.
