Environmental Compliance Specialist

Your responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to, the following:


  • Oversee compliance and monitoring systems for permitting across industrial and commercial sites, ensuring adherence to regulations such as RCRA, TSCA, and NPDES.
  • Maintain documentation of adherence to ISO certifications.
  • Conduct audits for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance, initiating corrective measures to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Administer compliance and monitoring systems for both hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams at industrial and commercial establishments.
  • Lead the development, assessment, implementation, and enhancement of comprehensive EHS programs, encompassing OSHA regulations including but not limited to hazard communication, hearing conservation, lockout/tag-out, respiratory protection, electrical safety, confined space entry, fall protection, burning/welding, powered industrial trucks, safe work permits, contractor safety, material handling, personal protective equipment, blood-borne pathogens, and ergonomics.
  • Drive the expansion of client-facing EHS compliance initiatives through effective written communication, nurturing client relationships, and identifying opportunities to provide additional value-added services.
  • Craft articulate documents and impactful presentations to convey intricate technical issues to diverse audiences in a clear and efficient manner.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and mechanical aptitude; minimum of two years of experience in engineering, geology, or technician roles involving environment, health, and safety compliance. Entry-level candidates are also welcome.
  • Preferred but not required: OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • Preferred candidates will possess a minimum of two years of experience with Six Sigma and familiarity with Quality Management System standards such as ISO-9001, TS-16949, etc.
  • Preferred candidates will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in environmental compliance programs, including but not limited to Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) rule, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Emergency Planning & Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA or "Superfund"), and Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations Permits (CAFO). A Master's degree in a directly related field may substitute for up to 2 years of on-the-job experience.


Salary:


$80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience.
