Design Technologist I
OJB is an award-winning landscape architecture design practice with locations in Texas, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support the implementation of design technology at OJB, especially Rhino and Revit BIM (Building Information Modeling) practices. The Design Technologist will work within the OJB Design Technology team to develop standards for various emerging technologies and be embedded within project teams to integrate technology and design. This position can be located in Houston, TX, Solana Beach, CA, Boston, MA or Philadelphi, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design teams, clients, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and goals.
- Establish design technology work plans and quality assurance schedules.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of 3d models and drawings using Rhino and Revit.
- Develop and manage design and production processes to improve coordination and efficiency.
- Support teams across offices and studios to ensure consistent standards and workflows.
- Learn and leverage cutting-edge technology as part of firmwide research, innovation, and development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience using and managing design software like Rhino, Revit, Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Lumion, Bluebeam, BIM360/ACC.
- Experience preferred in parametric design (Grasshopper, Dynamo), software integrations, cloud collaboration (MS Teams, SharePoint), spatial coordination or clash detection, visualization and rendering, VR/AR/XR, artificial intelligence AI/ML, application and/or web development, coding, scripting, and other emerging technologies.
