The Integrated Water Management Group is looking for a Director/Practice Lead to work from any of our Sourthern CA offices, Los Angeles, Irvine, Long Beach, or San Diego.

GHD is seeking a dedicated leader with experience with client service, project/program management, and operational experience in the southern California region. We also are looking to leverage our leading corporate and regional experience in IWM to expand our team in southern California. Operations expertise should include managing risk, driving project performance, project resourcing, and talent management. Technical desired areas of expertise include water resources, hydraulics and hydrology, storm water and flood management, engineering research, strategic planning, GIS analyses, alternatives analyses, and investment/funding strategies. The successful candidate will have strong management, leadership, business development, project/program management, and technical engineering skills.

Responsibilities of the position will include:

Business Development

  • Development of project opportunities
  • Client relationship management
  • Coordination with regional staff from different business groups
Project Management
  • Delivery quality
  • Client satisfaction
  • Schedule adherence
  • Identifying project financial/performance risks
Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Serving as Project Director, Technical Lead and/or project/program manager
  • Strong planning and writing skills
  • Preparing and/or managing the preparation of technical reports and studies
The Ideal Candidate will have the following Skills:
  • Comfortable presenting in front of Boards and audiences
  • Spatial sciences-oriented thinker with a passion for leveraging data in the decision-making process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Master's degree a plus
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer preferred
  • Minimum 20+ years' experience working in the civil / public works arena with local, state, and Federal clients

Salary Range: $150,000-$220,000
