ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance projects and similar environmental review processes or planning projects.
- Work may include, but is not limited to:
- Research and data collection and analysis on a range of topics pertaining to the natural and human environment.
- Drafting or editing of environmental assessment or environmental impact statement sections.
- Drafting of project correspondence.
- Development of public engagement materials.
- Planning of public meetings and other public engagement activities.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Fast learner, self-motivated
- Highly organized
- Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks concurrently
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GIS, desired
- Experience with Adobe Suite a plus
Qualifications
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelors or masters degree in an environmental discipline, public policy, technical writing, or a related field.
