SUMMARY

Join our high-caliber environmental consulting team supporting our Wyoming and Rocky Mountain Region operations as a senior consultant. In this position, you will develop and maintain client relationships through high quality project management and execution, business development, and personnel management. This role will primarily support Wyoming air quality projects, including permitting, compliance audits and support, and regulatory analysis. Experience in other media is a plus, but not required. Preference for candidate to be located in or within driving distance of Wyoming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitor, verify, and ensure the technical accuracy and quality of project work.
  2. Oversee and prepare complex permit applications, reports and notifications, technical guidance and procedures, and compliance schedules, tailored to client needs and agency expectations.
  3. Promote client stewardship by being attentive to the needs of existing clients and by encouraging consultant staff to look for business opportunities with clients.
  4. Guide staff in a manner that allows for efficient progress and timely completion of consulting projects within the established budget.
  5. Coordinate efforts of project team to ensure timely completion of project, invoicing review, and maintaining project budgets.
  6. Monitor and evaluate employees' performance of goals and performance standards continuously.
  7. Develop proposals for existing and prospective clients.
  8. Maintain business relationships through sales calls and professional networking. Identify new marketing opportunities and assist business development staff with appropriate literature development, communication, and follow-up.
  9. Prepare regulatory updates, present seminars and training, attend and present papers at conferences.
  10. Communicate with staff the decisions/goals of management so that the staff can adhere to company goals while meeting personal goals.
  11. Ensure proper utilization and billing of consulting staff.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 1-3 employees in Environmental Consulting. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Trinity policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental/Civil Engineering, or related Atmospheric/Environmental Science from four-year college or university; and at least two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have regulatory, industry, and/or technical knowledge relating to environmental permitting/compliance and/or industrial processes.

Must have computer literacy, including basic word processing, spreadsheet skills, and knowledge of Microsoft office software package.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, government agencies, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL AND SCIENTIFIC SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply fundamental principles of chemistry and physics to industrial processes and emission streams.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
