Volt is immediately hiring for a Material Handler 1 in Memphis, TN.
As a Material Handler 1, you will:
Job Details:
- Responsible for performing the physical or administrative/physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Lifts heavy items and may operate any motorized vehicle equipment within the warehouse, to include, but not be limited to forklifts and cherry pickers.
- Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
- Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
- Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.
- Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
- Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

Schedule:Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pmThe ideal candidate will have:- Must meet established attendance requirements.
- Must currently maintain acceptable standards and quality in present position.
- Able to select and lift objects from shelves and carry to order filling line. Able to consistently carry 20 - 30 lbs. of merchandise short distances and 15 lbs. of merchandise on an extended basis from order filling station to conveyor.
- Must be able to walk and stand throughout the entire shift.
- Basic math, reading and writing skills required.
PAY RATE: $18.00/Hourly*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
