LaFleur & Associates is accepting applications from L.G.S.W.s, L.M.S.W.s, L.C.S.W.s, L.C.S.W.C.s, L.G.P.C.s, L.C.P.C.s and L.P.C.s for contract engagements - 32 sessions a month (average 8 sessions per week). The opportunity is ideal for those seeking private practice experience outside of a day job or seeking extra hours to meet licensure requirements.


The current practice demographic is aged 20s to 50s, highly educated, working professional, struggling with anxiety, depression, life transition issues, shame, trauma, and grief. Many are dealing with L.G.B.T.Q. and other sexual orientation issues. The population is highly motivated, with individuals typically committed to long-term therapy. Current therapeutic modalities include but are not limited to psychodynamic or talk therapy, shame resilience and somatic experience therapy for developmental, subtle and overt trauma.


The practice is primarily insurance-based, so there is a requirement for contractors to learn and utilize the electronic medical records (E.M.R.) system in place. The practice offices are located within walking distance of the Farragut North metro station. We are seeking telehealth contractors for day or evening hours depending on your availability however, the practice offices are available for scheduled in-person appointments, subject to jurisdictional requirements.

Contractors must be professional, reliable and available for supervision weekly or bi-weekly depending on the contractor s need and the number of patients seen. For those who are licensed to practice independent clinical work, consultation is available. The schedule is flexible; Monday through Friday as well as some weekends. Preference for contractors able to carry a minimum caseload of 32 sessions a month (average 8 sessions per week).


Interested contractors should send a resume and indicate availability. This is a fee-for-service contractual position for which contractors will be paid per billable service. Supervision and professional development assistance includes private practice knowledge consultation.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and collect intake documents;
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling for clients who present with depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment disorders;
  • Consult with Primary Care Physicians and other allied professionals when needed;
  • Provide intake assessments and biosocial histories;
  • Complete required documentation;
  • Schedule clients;
  • Collect billing information, co-pays, and deductibles;
  • Prepare discharge and termination summaries


Qualifications and Skills

  • L.G.S.W., L.G.P.C., L.C.P.C, or L.I.C.S.W. in the District of Columbia. Equivalent licenses in Maryland and Virginia will ensure more referrals;
  • 1500 hours of client counseling is preferred. More importantly, looking for a good fit;
  • Must have experience and understanding of the clinical diagnostic process and utilization of the DSM-V;
  • Work experience providing services in clinical settings or remotely;
  • Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills;
  • Must have the capability of learning a cloud-based electronic medical record, scheduling, and billing system;
  • Must be proactive, goal-oriented, personable, able to work independently administratively and clinically in
  • accordance with licensure guidelines, and be comfortable in a developing environment;
  • Have the intention of working for a 2-year period
