ProChem is seeking an experienced procurement professional to work collaboratively with managers and employees alike to maintain the company s supply chain. This position reports to the Controller within the Accounting department.

In this position, you will provide direct procurement support by placing and tracking orders and managing inventory systems. You will provide insight and analysis on company purchasing patterns and trends to identify realistic ways to streamline procurement, reduce expenses, and shorten turnaround times and lead times. We are willing to nurture and train inexperience or skills gaps with the planning aspects of this position. On the job training will be provided on our internal systems.

You will work from a cubicle located in a private pod with the rest of the Accounting team. Our offices are equipped with remote worker engagement technology such as video enabled conference rooms and the team-based communication tool Slack. This position is eligible for hybrid or remote work after completing a training and review period. In-person work will be required initially to complete training and relationship building with your teams.
Duties
Manage and oversee all materials and product orders such as parts, raw materials, equipment, chemicals, and office supplies
Negotiate pricing agreements or order quantity discounts with suppliers
Maintain accurate inventory records
Collaborate with business unit leaders to understand and support the current and future needs of their teams and our customers
Maintain and analyze accurate records and trend data
Arrange disposals, resales, or reallocations of surplus material
Obtain and maintain up to date vendor pricing
Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding order status and lead times
Maintain work process documentation for the procurement department
Desired Qualifications & Experience
Experience applying independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Experience purchasing in the manufacturing industry is preferred
Proven ability to provide accurate and timely ordering
Excellent communication skills
Team-oriented work ethic and philosophy
Excellent organizational skills, especially using electronic systems and methods
Ability to develop positive working relationships with coworkers across disciplines and department lines
Experience maintaining supply chain and inventory levels
Proven ability to meet targets
Proven ability to reduce company expenses through procurement activities
Previous experience with Quickbooks enterprise is preferred but not required.
